Point of contact:
In this diptych I explore microscopic images of my fingertips. The first image is a series of progressions of two of my fingertips meeting under the microscope. The skin forms a membrane with another layer of skin when in contact. At this point of contact a special moment occurs when the two skins become one.
The second image shows part of my finger near the nails which i bite when iām anxious. and the second image that follows is the point of contact. To me the second dyptych shoes anxiety and the cure to anxiety i.e: touch. Touch is extremely healing and has been a form of therapy for many. It is the transfer of energy from one material body to another, may it be from one body to another or from one of your own hands to the other.
